One unique advantage of SSM cookstoves that sets us apart from other manufacturers is our ability to ship several models in a disassembled (knockdown) format. This not only significantly reduces shipping volume and cost but also empowers local communities to take part in the assembly process, creating jobs and encouraging local ownership.

The stoves are designed with simple, intuitive assembly steps that can be completed using basic tools such as screwdrivers or pliers. Each part is clearly labeled, and we provide easy-to-follow instructions, including visual diagrams or video guides when needed. Typically, a local worker can fully assemble a stove in 15–30 minutes after brief training.

No welding or advanced machinery is required. The design ensures that once assembled, the stove is strong, durable, and performs identically to our factory-assembled models.

This model also supports local capacity building. In past projects, local youth, women, and community groups have been trained to run mini assembly hubs. This not only speeds up large-scale distribution but also builds skills and pride in delivering clean cooking solutions to their own communities.
